2020 is a crucial year for EU-China relations as it marks the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two. Following the EU-China summit in June earlier this year, a virtual high-level dialogue is slated for 14 September. The aim of the high-level dialogue is to further foster political and economic ties between the EU and China, especially in the light of the negotiations over the long-awaited Comprehensive Agreement on Investment. At the same time, the Sino-US tensions, the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and human rights issues will also be on the agenda.

At this Sixty Minute Briefing, Ambassador Zhang Ming will set out China’s priorities for EU-China relations and take part in a question and answer session, chaired by EPC Chief Executive Fabian Zuleeg.
