The EU has entered the third period of its economic history; a paradigm shift is necessary to align EU policy with economic security needs. There is no alternative in today’s vehemently competitive, fragmented, and shock-prone world. This Framing Paper proposes 18 recommendations for the EU’s 2024-2029 economic security agenda and defines the setting for the EPC’s
new strategic project on economic security in 2024. The latter features several expert Roundtables, Policy Dialogues, and thematic Policy Papers resulting from the EPC’s close collaboration and knowledge partnership with institutional and corporate partners.
